Just curious …
-
Gary May, a lover of history, is a writer and the author of several books of non-fiction. His curiosity and meticulous research have combined to bring history to life, with tales told of characters whose lives, often so colourful they could have been lifted from the pages of fiction, would otherwise have gone unnoticed.
-
His first full-time job as a reporter in the Sarnia bureau of The London Free Press sparked a particular curiosity that has led him to be a recognized authority on the early Canadian oil industry, earning him accolades from Canada, the United States and Europe, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from Canada’s Petroleum History Society.
-
Born in the Niagara Region, he now lives in Windsor, Ontario. Did someone say Automotive Capital of Canada? Yes, his curiosity has been piqued once again, so stay tuned for a new book on the history of labour in Windsor and how it influenced workplaces across Canada.
